Intro

Our friend and associate CDO, Angela Livingstone, survived a torrid time with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia.

With leukaemia, you can’t go home ‘as normal’ because you don’t have a normal blood system that carries oxygen round your body or an immune system, so you have to stay confined in a hepa-filtered hospital room.  Whilst the treatment phase is relatively short, say a week to a month, ; the recovery phase is unknown and relatively long when you’re confined to a room and in complete isolation.

Angie put together her top tips for coping with isolation that she learned during this period of her life spent in hospital. Please feel free to share.

1. Live in the moment.

2. Evaluate what is important

3. Be grateful for what you have

4. Be kind
