DataIQ Awards 2022

DataIQ announced the shortlist for their 2022 awards last week and we couldn’t be happier to see our customers, CDO Hub members and friends included. And also ourselves!

The word from DataIQ is that with another record number of submissions, to be recognised as a finalist is an achievement in itself, and we couldn’t agree more. Looking at the shortlist there are some impressive companies, outstanding data projects and strong teams in every category.

Best Place to Work in Data (agency or consultancy)

The Crew here at Cynozure is up for the award of Best Place to Work in Data. Openness, honesty and authenticity underpin all we do at Cynozure – how we communicate with each other, decisions we make and our relationships with our clients. Whenever we’re considering something new – be it who to work with, projects to take on, or any other initiative, we bring it back to the values we created together:

  • Be Brave
  • Be a Crew
  • Be Data
  • Be Focussed
  • Be Authentic

We’re extremely proud to have an employee NPS score of 79. To put this into context, benchmark data suggests that anything above 30 should be considered ‘excellent’.

Putting people first motivates and empowers us all. This means that time and time again, our talented team delivers on our objectives, and this has been key to successful business growth.

Data For Society

Our customer, Arts Council England is shortlisted for this award on Priority Places: Levelling Up The UK’s Cultural Landscape.

Arts Council England (ACE) is the national development agency for creativity and culture. Its vision is a country in which the creativity of each of us is valued, has the chance to flourish and where everyone can access a remarkable range of high quality cultural experiences.

ACE is entrusted to invest public money to help support the sector and to deliver this vision. ACE recognised the need for a new data strategy to achieve this vision and commissioned Cynozure’s expertise to help deliver it.

In embracing the power of its data to create Priority Places, ACE is driving real, positive change in areas where it is needed most across the UK, and creating opportunities for people of all ages to engage with the arts in a meaningful, and often life-changing, way. Creativity and culture support health and wellbeing, talent, assist children and young people, aid in building and sustaining communities and contribute to local economies. As we emerge from the pandemic the need to support this hard hit industry is more important than ever.

Data and Analytics Leader of the Year

We entered our friend, original CDO Hub member and customer, Pete Williams, and are thrilled to see his great work recognised here on the shortlist. Pete is Director of Data and Online at Penguin Random House UK, where we’ve worked with him, and he co-led a popular session on Data Literacy at our recent Cynozure+ event.

In three years, Pete has transformed the way that Penguin views its data, turning it into the agile, data-guided organisation that it is today. Under Pete’s leadership, data literacy has gone from being a tech skill to a highly-valued business skill that the organisation is committed to investing in.

Outside PRH, Pete is an active member of the data and tech community. He is a sought after keynote speaker and contributes to the data community through events, podcasts and interviews. Effective data leadership is not about setting goals and overseeing a team to achieve them. It encompasses more than that, and demands a clear vision. Pete’s vision is to harness the power of data to deliver quantifiable value to his organisation. Through his leadership, he seeks to convince others to believe in this vision, and inspire them to help him deliver it. This is the hallmark of truly effective leadership, and this is what Pete has done – and continues to do – at PRH.
